Marvel fans are in for a treat as Captain America: Brave New World prepares to hit digital platforms on April 15, followed by a physical release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 13. Before it arrives to our home’s, IGN has unveiled an exclusive deleted scene that offers a poignant moment between two key characters: President Thaddeus Ross, portrayed by Harrison Ford, and Isaiah Bradley, brought to life by Carl Lumbly. This scene, while not making it to the final theatrical cut in its entirety, sheds light on the complex dynamics at play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest chapter.
In this newly revealed footage, titled “Stick Around,” President Ross approaches Isaiah Bradley with a rare moment of vulnerability. Ross, now the leader of the free world, extends a heartfelt apology to Bradley, a man whose life was forever altered by the U.S. government’s shadowy experiments. Bradley, as fans will recall from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, was the first super soldier, man subjected to brutal testing in an attempt to recreate the serum that turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. Decades of imprisonment and erasure from history followed, leaving Bradley a forgotten hero until Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) brought his story into the light.
The scene unfolds with Ross acknowledging the wrongs done to Bradley, a gesture that feels both personal and political. But it doesn’t stop there, Ross goes a step further, offering Bradley an unexpected invitation. Though the exact nature of this offer isn’t fully detailed in the clip, it hints at a chance for reconciliation, or perhaps a role in the new world order Ross is shaping. A shorter version of this exchange made it into the theatrical release, but this extended cut provides a richer look at the emotional weight of their interaction.

Ford and Lumby have a great connection here that you just don’t see in the movie, literally. This scene felt genuine on both parties. Ford, or President Ross could always have ulterior motives. Like having this little meeting for pure political reasons but it really doesn’t come off this way for us fans. There is no telling of why we didn’t see this scene but it could definitely have to do with the many reshoots they had for this film.

While this particular scene didn’t make the final cut in its entirety, its release offers a tantalizing glimpse into the layers of Brave New World. It’s a testament to the film’s ambition to not just deliver action-packed spectacle, but to explore the moral gray areas that define its characters. As Sam Wilson steps into the Captain America mantle, moments like these remind us that the shield carries a history, both heroic and haunting that continues to shape the MCU’s future.
