In the photo, Marsden, who famously portrayed Cyclops in the early 2000s X-Men films, is seen chatting with Wong, known for his role as the sorcerer Wong in the MCU. The two actors appear to be in a casual moment, surrounded by production equipment like cameras and crew gear, suggesting they might be on a film set. The caption accompanying the image reads, “James Marsden and Benedict Wong spotted together on what appears to be the set of Avengers: Doomsday!! Avengers: Doomsday, slated for release in 2026, is one of the most anticipated projects in the MCU’s Phase 6, marking the return of directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously helmed Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. The film will also feature Robert Downey Jr. in a surprising new role as the villain Doctor Doom, a casting choice that has rekindled fan enthusiasm following a mixed reception to Phases 4 and 5 of the MCU. We knew we were going to see James Marsden’s Cyclops return to the big screen and officially in the MCU with the Doom cast reveal where they showed many actors names on the chairs confirming they will be on Avengers: Doomsday.

We do not see these two suited up or anything like that, but everyone knows this is not a coincidence given all the details we know about this film now. Especially with everything in the background looking like a set.
Hopefully before long we can witness Marsden’s iconic Cyclops fully suited up, whether that’s in the actual film or in teasers/leaks before Doomsday comes to the big screen, we do not know. All we know is that Marvel fans are ecstatic to have the man himself return for this role and especially in the MCU.
