James Gunn went to X and released a new teaser for the make or break DCU film SUPERMAN. We have gone over this teaser description here before since this was already shown to those at Cinemacon. However, now it has been released to the public by Gunn himself. The description was spot on with what we see in this extended seen with Krypto and Superman.
We truly will see Superman flying on its release date in theaters, July 11, 2025. On the other hand, with this Sneak Peek we see Superman “crashing out”, literally. He is clearly wounded and we learn that he has many broken bones from when he is taken in by the robots into the Fortress of Solitude. Before this Krypto although Super, is still a pup at heart so he began to jump on Superman in a playful manner causing him even more pain because Krypto packs a playful super punch.
Krypto would then bring Superman “home” after being asked multiple times, he understands and completes the assignment eventually. Superman is being nice to the robots but they simply express that they aren’t living beings so there is really no need to do that, even though they acted very real with their interaction. Again, this is a head scratcher somewhat because in the trailer we see that one of the robots has been hurt and Superman his holding it while being in disarray. What this probably is is that Superman(Clark Kent) is a very sensitive soul and even though the robots were not “real” they had a place in his heart.
Onto the “yellow sun”, where Superman is screaming in agonizing pain. The sun itself is not hurting Superman but healing him. He is screaming because his bones are being snapped back into place. Along all of his other injuries, he is super but not immune to pain so it’s understandable why we see him this way.
James Gunn’s Superman played by David Corenswet is a different take we’ve seen on the big screen compared to the past Superman’s. He is more of a sensitive pure soul it would seem and very caring at heart. We are going to see him not only struggle physically in this movie battling villains like Lex Luthor, but also emotionally. Don’t miss this epic SUPERMAN film in releasing in theaters on July 11 of this year.
