With Venom: Let There Be Carnage less than two weeks away and Spider-Man No Way Home right around the corner, promotions for the two are ramping up. We received the first Teaser Trailer for No Way Home, which heavily teased the multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, showing us some old villains like Doc Ock and the Green Goblins pumpin bomb and they even name dropped "multiverse" in it. Now, Venom Let There Be Carnage is teasing a bigger, connected universe as well in their promo's stating "the universe is about to expand" and "There's something way bigger happening."
What's this bigger thing that's happening and also expanding the Universe? Well, it looks like it's the one and only, Spider-Man.
Recently, Venom: Let There Be Carnage director, Andy Serkis, confirmed that Spider-Man would meet Venom in the future. Tom Hardy also stated he will do everything he can to make it happen. And today, we have more news on this.
In an interview with comicbook.com, Tom Hardy and Andy Serkis were asked about Venom meeting Spider-Man. The first thing asked was about a picture of Venom eating Spider-Man that Tom Hardy posted to instagram but quickly deleted after in which Tom Hardy's response was "That's wish fullfilment."
They were then asked if Venom and Spider-Man are on their minds in which Tom Hardy stated "Of course it's in our minds. All the time". He continued to talk about how the legs hanging out of Venom's mouth were very specific and then said "I think you can't do a Venom story without knowing Spider-Man's in the mix somewhere." Hardy would go on to say that some events need to happen before hand, for the two to meet up, but the question "when do I get to eat Spider-Man?" is always on Tom Hardy's mind.
That question may be answered as Daniel Richtman posted to his patreon today that in Venom 3, Spider-Man and Venom will finally meet.
Whether they end up meeting in Venom 3 remains to be seen but one thing is confirmed now: Venom and Spider-Man will be meeting each other, in one universe or another, very soon.
